It is a common conception that the toddlers i.e. children who do not even know how to walk properly or take care of their basic needs should be sent to school because at such a tender age say about 1.8 years, he/she cannot take the burden of academic fulfilments.

Moreover, pre-school is viewed as a place where a child is either singing, dancing, playing with toys, looking and learning through the smart board, engaged in some craft activity or involved in some inter-class competition all the time and these can be achieved at home too.

If a toddler is sent to school then the child enjoys the above-stated activities but they are deemed as time pass. But it is at the preschochild-activitiesol age that the youngsters develop most of the connections in their brain.

These connections make a child curious thus he explores, contributes in circle time, he would learn by watching others, he would socialize thus get along with the other children, he would develop interpersonal skills, he would develop pre-reading skills and vocabulary by hearing new words from his peers and mentors and he would also learn social behavior management skills.

These kids enjoy going to school as it becomes a place for them where they gain a sense of self, explore, experiment, converse, play with their peers, and build confidence.

Children start to seek answers to the questions of things that they see around them. They ask questions that can even leave an adult amazed for example from where do the clouds get water in them? Do birds have toys just like them?

The best way a child learns is through activities. The great philosopher, Confucius has rightly related the acquisition of understanding and knowledge directly to living and experiencing and said that “I hear and I forget; I see and I remember; I do and I understand’. So very true.

if we tell a child the facts, he would not be able to understand but if those facts are supported by an activity, learning is immediate. Thus a child enjoys story time, playing with blocks. Having fun with these activities is what motivates the students to go to school thus a pre-school is not for achieving academic milestones but providing opportunities to these kids be imaginative, creative and social.

As stated earlier singing and the playing are the two most popular activities that pull students to pre-school. Singing, in particular, encourages speech and language development, enhances communication and vocabulary. A child struggling with numbers can improve upon his learning of numbers if trained through song.

Also playing different kinds of games not only advances his curiosity but also develops problem-solving skills and teamwork.

Thus it is important that a child is a pre-schooler before starting his formal education as he not only enjoys being in school but at the same time develops the foundation for lifelong learning and that really makes all the difference in terms of academic attainments later on in his life when he becomes a formal school learner.
